Colourset improvements

Recommended Posts

We've been getting some useful feedback that whilst customers generally know what the schemes they're planning to use look like, the vast majority (the silent majority?) don't know what the correct terminology is and usually don't know the proper names of the paint colours used. As such, our written format names are missing the mark for most potential customers.

As a result, we're investing some time (we have no budget to pay people to do this) drawing illustrations and designing more graphic labelling for our sets. Hopefully these are a little bit more visually appealing and crucially help customers both at model shows and online simply identify the scheme they want to model and have confidence they're getting the right colours to do it. It's when you start an exercise like this that you realise how many drawings are actually required! Gulp!

We hope you like them :)

I'm liking those as well. Slight typo with the Luftwaffe RLM 74,75,76 scheme. ACLW14 is listed as RLM70, however suspect that this should be RLM75. I'm also thinking that perhaps a Fw190 would be a more popular example for this set then a Bf110. I've not purchased any of your paints (yet), however even though I've got so many examples of so many colours, these do look nice. Any thoughts of a RAAF or USN set as well?

Cheers.. Dave.

Correction made!

We've a big list of US sets already available but I'm working on drawings for those as of last night (starting with a Wildcat which can also cover our Fleet Air Arm sets ;) ). A fairly basic F4 Phantom will follow that which with small line drawing adjustments will cover USAF SEA, USN Cold War, RAF 1970s Fighters and Luftwaffe Norm 83.

I don't have any RAAF sets yet but can easily do so (and I think @Duncan B in particular will be receptive to more sets) and now I'm learning to draw on Illustrator I quite fancy having a go at some more sets. The possibilities are endless! (so long as it yields a suitable and natural number of tins due to box sizes). Boxes are not cheap to have made in anything south of massive order quantities, but maybe this will help us work towards there :)
