ArtScale.eu is, in preparation for this French SH Mirage III boxing, releasing about 10 different decal sheets for various operators (some already available, some in the future), and this nice pink scheme is included. Must buy for me.🤣

That is music to my ears :)

That's where I saw it when looking for decals. I'm hoping they are going to do some sheets for the R and RS as there seem to be very little out there and now Special Hobby are getting their decals printed by Eduard I would rather not use them.

I saw Mirage IIIO, EA, EBR planned so far, some include anniversary schemes. No idea about Mirage V variants, but I am hoping for VBR in Mephisto marking. DACO made this a long time ago, impossible to find now.

Why Oh Why did they paint it with Pepto Bismol ?

I believe it was a prank another squadron played on them.

1F Sqn RAF, it was done during a detachment to the French base, the French repaid the favour by painting a Harrier pink.

I didn't think that was the case from what I've read. It was 1/10 squadron that was behind it and the aircraft belonged to 2/10 squadron, nothing to do with the RAF.

Yes, that is the one. I even emailed DACO for it, but got no response...

My set has two of the main sheets - one is labeled as "misprinted spare", but I can't see much difference between the two, really. It's a rather elderly sheet, with nowhere the resolution / print quality of DACO's current standards. Let me know if you'd be interested in the spare.

This won't give you all the markings, since there is a seperate smaller sheet with roundels etc., but it would get you in the ballpark.

Cheers,

Andre

Yes, I would certainly be interested in that, as the roundels, etc. are probably available from other sources, but the main sheet is kind of unique.

In 1981, I made a series of 4 Mirage IIIc’s from slightly shortened Revell IIIe’s.  They were in exactly those 4 schemes! Forty years on. Still have them somewhere. Project also included a IIIb.

Special Hobby could release a third "export" boxing, with South African, Argentinian and two Israeli camouflaged versions.

Indeed, next boxing is scheduled for autumn this year and will focus on IIIE schemes, mainly SAAF and Argentine ones, according to Mr. Riedel of SH.

I want a dedicated SAAF IIIC boxing with the initial silver scheme. 😎
