That looks great. You've done a wonderful job with this old kit.

Thank you. Very kind of you. The kit is actually quite nice to build.

I have got to say Chris , that is definitely a blast from the past mate.

I can remember seeing her in the old Airfix catalogs (that old , they used roman numerals).

Very nice job sir, well done.

Simon.

Thank you too. I think this is one ofthose Airfix gems.

All the best

Excellent, wonderful job. Happy to see this one built up, remember holding the box as a kid, but could'n afford it back then.

Ah yes I remember going to the model shop and looking longingly a

t the kits and looking to my parents hinting that I would like this one  but leaving empty handed on many occasions.

According to my book, the kit came out in 1959....!

And then the Silver City DC 3 the next year.

Cool boxing,

Yeah, those big kits in boxes, series 4 and the like, they were well beyond the range of pocket money.

You're only chance really was holding out for Christmas, make your desires known, and hope for the best.

And sometimes, if you've been good enough......

1959 wow.

I used to look at the pressies under the tree for a kit box shaped pressie or a long Hornby loco box shape.

Beautiful job Chris, she's looking really good :)

Thanks Ced.  She's a biggie too. I'm going to have to find a big box to store her in until the building work is done and I finish my mancave

Thanks all

Lovely job Chris, always liked the look of this old bus. Although I remember, as a nipper back in the sixties, seeing the box in our local toy shop, along with its inspirational Roy Cross artwork, I somehow never got around to getting hold of one, (along with the Rotodyne and SRN4). Good to see this one finished so well...

Thanks General very kind of you. Ahh yes I remember getting a Tamiya Catalogue one year and spent ages salivating over ail kits inside and would get very excited over a visit to Hythe to go to the model shop.

Hi All

I am calling this one finished now.  Added the actuator rods and covers for the Ailerons and decals from S&M but otherwise OOB.  Now got to pack away all my modelling bits and bobs for the rest of the work on the house which starts early in the new year.

Will put up an RFI post later on.

Def. getting me one of these.

Lovely job.

Thanks Rob, it's a very nice kit indeed, go get one. I would love to be able to super detail one but it would take too long and I have too many other things on the go at the moment.

All the best

Chris
