Alclad Gloss Black

Head in the clouds.

Recommended Posts

I have had this bottle of ALC309 Gloss Black Micro Filler/Base Coat for four years and had no problems until now. I have not used it for a while but initially it was very gloss, now it is more Matt and no amount of shaking makes a difference. I am spraying at 15=18 psi about 1-2 inches from the surface and at a slight angle. It is also not particularly smooth whereas before it was like the proverbial babies bottom. I am using an Iwata gun.

Does it degrade over time or am I missing something?

Any ideas folks.

Thanks in advance.

Can't tell you about age related degradation, but I've never had much luck with the alclad gloss black. Never got a consistent glossy black surface with it. Saying that, I've never had a problem with the grey primer, no matter what psi or needle combination I've used. It always comes out smooth as silk.

Sorry I can't be any more help.
