A shame the F-5E never got a chance to prove itself in combat- bet it would have acquitted itself well, but I guess the lack of a serious look down-shoot down radar fit was a big disadvantage. I always get a lovely, warm and fuzzy hit of nostalgia every time I see an Alconbury bird, so these photos are most welcome. Cheers, Andre Andre, Unless I’m mistaken, the Vietnamese might have flown ex- South Vietnam AF F-5C’s, but no F-5E’s were delivered to them, nor were there any USAF E’s in SEA.
