Against the Odds...1/48 Messerschmitt Bf109G-10 KG(J)6

And my dad´s next one...

Eduard´s new Bf109G-10 Regensburg production, built oob, painted with Gunze and Tamiya, EZ Line for aerials. JaPo KG(J)6 book as reference, the book and Eduard go for a 74/75 camo, my dad chose a late war 75/83.
All in all not a bad kit, goes together well like Eduard´s G-6.
As usual, there has already been some discussion about the accuracy. Well, the oil cooler and the elevators are more G-6 style, the legs are earlier G style and, like the Hasegawa ones, about 2-3mm too long. Only Tamiya, Zvezda and Fujimi got their G legs right. Overall it looks like a G-10 and it was fun to build.

Besides Me262s, also Bf109s and Fw190ies were used in the KG(J) units. Whereas earlier 109s were used for training, G-10 and K-4 were used for combat, like this machine from 1./KG(J)6, which was found wrecked at Prague-Kbely at the end of the war.

Very nice rendition of this classic aircraft, and an impressive finish.

I agree that the 'checkerboards' look very attractive, and your themed collection is simply superb.

I'd love to see them at IPMS'  GoModelling @ HGM, in March next year...

Another great model or should I say models. You dad really churns them out fast. I spent all yesterday gluing 8 rigging lines on my He 51. CA. really hates me. I spent 15 minutes this morning trying to glue one of the last lines.

I gave up in the end. This one didn't even have any tension on it. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong. Then to see your dad turning out such good models in a short time gets to me. It is called envy.

I got my Japanese trainer. So I'm looking forward to using his one as an example.

Very, very nice model! The defense of the Reich bands really stand out! Never fully realized how small an airframe the '109 was until you posed yours with the Me-262 models! Great job on all of them!

yes, rigging is tricky...my dad isn´t a friend of CA glue either😀 my dad knows the bipe problems, has experienced them enough until now...

At the moment he works on the Revell Stearman, partly he uses thin plastic rods, for the rest either more rods or fishing line or EZ Line...hasn´t decided yet.

Once again thank you all for your kind words!!
