Sorry?  Did I read 'could not get the paintwork quite right'?  Well I wish my 'not quite right' paintjobs were even half as good as that one!

I looked too and found no flaws.

Don't worry OP, great result !!!

I bet you cursed the scalloping on the leading edge,

That requires a lot of masking (I was again thinking about investing in cutting machine). The problem is that I have run out of Mr.Resin Surfacer and used regular Mr.Surfacer for priming resit that has worse adhesion. When mask are applied, removed and reapplied again small chips of paint peel off that require another round of sanding, remasking and repainting in order to avoid visible edges, that, in turn, lead to another chips, at some point I just said "enough" and simply applied patches, they may not be visible on the photos but they are there. Another story is that many of intricate details are buried under many layers of paint.

Well built? NOT MINE!!!!! :

You painted the wood?

Yes, the wood is painted. I have explained the technique somewhere on this forum (with pictures)

- apply base colour, "flesh", "tan" or "buff"

- draw texture with short, hard haired brush. The technique is very similar to dry brushing but leave slightly more paint

- blow "clear yellow" or "clear yellow" with a drop of "clear red" atop.
