B5N2 Kate restoration

Recommended Posts

Found this just now while trolling for schemes; evidently a B5N2 recovered from Papua, New Guinea is being restored to static display status. See the link below as well as an additional link to this aircraft's history. I would rather see a TBD, but the Kate was also a very historically significant aircraft, and just as rare.

I'm not sure if any actual work gas started on it.  I get the impression that the museum isn't exactly rolling in cash.  I don't mean that as an insult or anything, just that like most museums they don't have a huge budget and need to stretch every penny as far as they can..and they can't just dump a ton of cash into a massive restoration project.
