Alpha Delta 210
Hi I recently spent a few days in Norfolk, VA and took some time to visit the battleship USS Wisconsin. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to go on board because I had booked a boat trip along the Elizabeth River to Naval Station, Norfolk. (Pictures here.) Wisconsin Square is a small park on Norfolk, Virginia's Elizabeth River waterfront, opposite the berth of the USS Wisconsin, a museum ship. The park contains memorials to the seamen were lost while serving on United States Navy ships homeported in Norfolk. The Square also contains the ship's bell of USS Norfolk (DL-1) and a copy of The Lone Sailor. (from Wikipedia) The Lone Sailor USS Norfolk's bell Thanks for looking.

Latinbear
Great pictures there of a truly impressively sized ship. I remember reading about this class of battleship when I was a nipper. Strange how I can remember that but not what I had brekkie yesterday. The plaques are very moving and serve as an appropriate reminded of the hazards of military service in peace-time. Thanks for posting the shots.
