nikos
Ι make for first time a diorama with sea. I used plaster of art and coloured with acrylics prussian blue white black ultramarine blue and pthalo blue. The colours are for mediterranean quality of sea colour. Please say me your opinion . I want strong critique if something is no correct!!!! I 'll put silikonne and wood cement for waves

qn30jEkPz7
What scale height are your waves? That looks like a lot of choppy water (which is fine if that's what you are going for) I'd suggest that the scattering depth is more important than the precise colour of blue and that I got a good effect starting with a base of sea shades and steadily building up layer after layer thinning the opaque paint with clear varnish so that the final coat was almost all varnish so that the colour has a depth to it (if that makes sense to you?) heloman1
A lot of 'chop' in your sea with no wind/wave pattern. Take a look at some images of sea state and then model to that. Colin
nikos
Good evening Lostcosmonauts. The scale is to 1/72. The diorama will have a Sunderland on landing but I dont want to be in water because I want to put out and put in in diorama The sea sometimes ( in Aegean sea) I saw from the ships during journeys has not a rythm for the waves. It looks like to go up and go down and on top there is full of bubble. Ask you if for 1/72 the waves are good in heith . The surface is very rough and when I putted the colour f.e the black stayed in the wholles and then I putted prussian blue to make it more blue
bhouse
It reminds me of the water at the base of Alanya Kalesi in Turkey: shallow water breaking over a rough seabed at the foot of cliffs.
Martian
I'm not sure one would want to land a flying boat in water that choppy unless one had no choice in the matter. Despite the Sunderland's great size and robust airframe, it's planning bottom was somewhat susceptible to damage when alighting in even a moderate sea state. John Masters
I live on an island in the middle of the Aegean. Looks like the right colour for shallow water--20 meters or so and close to the shore. If you want deeper water and open sea, it should be much darker. Homer was right when he described a "wine dark sea."
DMC
A bit too much Jackson pollock I think. Maybe a little more like this Italeri boxtop art. No offense. Dennis
nikos
I tried to give a darker colour quality. Thanks for all oppinions mates and I am standing to John 's as islander in Mediterranean sea especially to Aegean where this aircraft was in service in 1941 . Diorama will be like that work in progress to all things...
