Hi folks

First dip into floaty things

So here I go

1/700 (too small) Tamiya Mogami with White Ensign etch set (also too small)

Am wandering out of my comfort zone doing this so may be a premature stop to progress...lets see

The Etch set is tiny  much smaller than I'm used to on armour subjects!

Made a bit of a start on putting de gausing cables and a small radar thing on ( please forgive the lack of technical terms..I will learn)

A few more ...and call it a day

Great start mate just take your time you will need to keep resting your eyes with that tiny little stuff :hypnotised:

And you will get lots of help from the good folks around here  :book:

Rain this morning so go to allotment this afternoon gives me a couple of hours of fiddling about with the etch brass

Giving it a rest now as advised...

Getting the spade out for some dirty action.

It's been a while seeing your "stuff" on here Mr L, but a floaty thing is something to behold - I'm in for this one mate!

Your doing a cracking job with this, just one thing (sorry) the Pete float plane, the top wing looks way too high like the wing struts are too long

Thanks for your observation Colin

The Pete was the first (and last ) one that I tried the etch struts (especially the central ones) the subsequent ones only have the wing struts o and that does pull the top wins down.

I am having to abandon some of the etch stuff because the points on my tweezers are too big for the brass!

  • 4 weeks later...

Hi folks

My little boat has been left alone for the past few weeks due to domestic issues and finishing off some other stuff,

Managed to find a bit of time to put some paint on it.

Still a lot to do but plodding along.

Although sometimes I am getting a bit lost doing this I am enjoying the change from my armour.

Cheers

That’s looking great so far the decking has come up a treat I see you have used a piece of wood for holding the little ship it does make it much easier to handle when your working on things.
