Snowman
This is a "little" project that was born out a flash inspiration, later I found out that it had already been done by others, Toni Canfor in the Airfix - Scale Modelling Road & Track magazine - magnificent work! None the less, I decided to continue. The kit as such is an old one, but it was cheap and a bit of dog, so it will require quite a bit of work to improve it. The project has stalled somewhat as has my building in general, but I do fiddle with it now and then when the inspiration returns. I'll post some images of the WIP as soon as I can get them up on Flikr.
Snowman
Here is some images of work I did earlier. As I said, this a bit of dog of a kit, but with potential. Pete in Lincs
Interesting. I've not seen a build of this kit before. I did at one point consider building one as a variation of the vanships https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/lastexile/images/1/16/Vanship01.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20110319051952 Much as i'd enjoy it, I simply don't have the time. So I'll just linger here and watch your build instead.

Fastcat
Hi Snowman, I built this kit many years ago when it was kitted by Merit. Doesn't look as if the tooling has been updated in all those years! Not a bad kit in spite of that - it's very much what you make of it and it's nice to see these old kits being built. You're probably not going to see them kitted again. If you have trouble with the decals, Indycals in the States do a replacement; http://www.indycals.net/decals/f1/50alfa158.html They also do a 3D printed detail set for it if you really fancy spending over £70 for it plus whatever you get charged by customs etc. It's nice, but.............................. Personally I'd rather visit the spares box! Interesting build. Have fun. Dave 1
bhouse
@Fastcat Thanks for the Indycals reference. I hadn't heard of them but they seem to have a few bits I need 🤗
Fastcat
That's great. Michael Portaro who runs Indycals is very helpful and doesn't stand still when it comes to new technology. Good to deal with and he's pretty fast to respond for a one man affair. Can't comment on the 3D parts but all the decals are printed to order and the service is still good.
