Was surfing through a vendor's second hand kits while picking up a SEAD Foxbat when I saw it. What's this? Never heard of these before. Such a neat looking recon-bomber.....and the price is right. Why not, I'll take it. We'll see if I can find some time to sneak this one in on the tail end after the Mitchell.....or if I need a breather. Although will all the little resin bits, I'm not convinced it will really be a relaxing build. The kit even comes w/ 3 Italian options from 1940-41. Ah the "Anson in an Armani Suit" an excellent choice sir ! Look forward to seeing this one. Cheers Pat
Ray_W
Hi Everyone, I hope you do not mind if I jump over and join the Group. Seeing I am on a bit of an Aussie Ace run, I ordered today the Airfix 1/48 P-40 to build Caldwell's Tomahawk II AK498. Now I just have to wait for it to arrive. I am not much into the P-40 detail so this will give me a little time to do some research. Ray

825
Picking up my cutting mat this morning I realised I had a bit of a GB cornucopia. The Sea Gladiator is an interloper from the BoB GB but if you hold on, there will be one from HMS Eagle sometime soon.
Erwin
I finished the 1/24 th Trumpeter Hurricane in just under a month of building. I wonder if I might be able to finish the 1/24 th P-40 Tomahawk by the end of the GB. Edited October 7, 2020 by Erwin
Erwin
Hi all, After the disaster with the P-40, I decided to get away from planes for a while. So I ordered this to add to the GB... Edited October 10, 2020 by Erwin
Ozzy
Nice choice Erwin, should have no problems with a classic Tamiya kit.

I did armour in my early years of modelling untill I started on planes. Building this Panzer II and the Panther in that GB is not new to me.
Tim R-T-C
Started my research with my research assistant on hand too. Looks like my November holiday plans are out so I'll have a week at home to build a stack of Stukas and 109s for this one.

SoftScience
I went on a short vacation to Tybee Island/Savannah Georgia this week and while down there I found a bookstore selling older kits for a pittance. I walked out with an armload of Promodeler, Classic Airframes, Monogram, and Tamiya kits. Among these were two subjects (maybe three) that would fit great into this GB: a Regianne 2001 by CA, and Promodeler's JU-88 C-6 which has a markings option for a night fighter operating out of Sicily. I also picked up a BF-110G. Checking to see if any markings for these from the Med are available. Can't decide which one to build. Suggestions? Encouraging words? And for serious, if any of you finds yourself in Richmond Hill, Georgia, check out the Bookstore on the Hill. Hundreds of kits. Most < $20. You won't be disappointed!

Not sure this kit has the parts to build a g-2 I admit to being entirely ignorant about the 110 subtypes.

825
My sojourn into the Western Desert with a bundle of 1:72/76 AFVs is complete and they will be posted in the gallery soon. Thanks for hosting this GB guys, I've enjoyed building these. Time to complete the Sea Gladiator and start the Albacore.

AdrianMF
That's a veritable sandstorm of vehicles! Nice to see someone else uses brown paper as a substitute for a sandy base I know it's wrong to pick favourites but I've always loved the Crusader... Corsairfoxfouruncle
Hello Patrice @TEMPESTMK5... Im looking for a Judgement from a moderator about a possible entry ? I was considering adding my very first ship model since 1993, it would be the O.R.P. Kujawiak a Hunt class Destroyer Escort. I would use the 1/700 IBG kit and will start a thread as soon as I get approval. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ORP_Kujawiak_(L72) Her final voyage was to Malta in June 1942 and she was sunk escorting a convoy. My Uncle served on her as a fire control-man from 1940 until the sinking, so it has a very strong personal connection. Officially she was sunk by mine, but from my uncles mouth she was torpedoed in an air raid. He actually watched the torpedo slam into her from his position on deck. He wasnt quite sure if it was a Heinkel 111, Ju.88, or SM.79 that launched the torpedo his memory after 40 years was a bit hazy. I also intend to build the plane sometime in the future. I think Heinkel or Ju.88. Dennis PS - The reason for seeking permission as she was used on many convoys to the USA, USSR, Egypt, and Malta. So not sure if she qualifies as stationed in the Mediterranean ? Edited October 28, 2020 by Corsairfoxfouruncle
