IDF Tiran 5.

Recommended Posts

This build has been going on since February 2017, off and on, but it is finally finished. This is the Tamiya kit with some replacement parts such as main gun (Aber), MTG's, (RB Modls) turret hatch covers (Legend), tracks (Fruilmodel) and an awful lot of etched brass (Voyage). The WIP can be found here; https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235016511-tiran-5/&page=1

As always, nice finish. Delicate weathering, and good figures. Maybe if you wish you can add some smoke around the exhaust. Russian vehicles was quite messy in this case. Thanks for sharing.

That really turned out beautifully John. All your work has certainly paid off - it looks superb. The paintwork and finish are truly top notch! Excellent modelling! :worthy:

Kind regards,

Stix

'Morning Chris, and thanks for the comments. I've blown up one of the photos to show that there is exhaust stain around the outlet and on the stowage box behind it. The lighting that I use tends to wash out some of the features.

Nice to see another Tiran 5. Can't have too many of them. I think all the hard work you put into it shows, IOW you should be proud with the result :) You got Message/PM.

Cheers

Göran

Thanks Goran. No more Tiran 5's, but I do have a couple of Tiran 4's. I'll PM you later.

Great job!!, a model very complete in all aspects. There are some photos with a slightly more earthy tone, personally I like that color more. :goodjob:

Cheers John 👍

Thanks Francis. The variations in tone are all down to the lighting. Some were taken with the lighting at the front, others at the rear, giving more shadow. I'm going to have to find a better method of lighting my models. Maybe some kind of filter as the 100 watt bulb is too severe.
