Regards, Jeff. Maggie is a rescue too. We got her from the Dogs Trust back in 2018. She's an ex-racer who was lucky enough to have a responsible trainer - she has absolutely zero prey drive, where the normal Greyhound will see something small & furry and go "lunch" Maggie just looks at it and trys to be friends. Which backfired last year when the small furry thing turned out to be a transient Badger who swiped her snout with a claw....
ArnoldAmbrose Posted February 20 Posted February 20 41 minutes ago, Neil1956 said: she has absolutely zero prey drive I wish ours didn't either. The cat (Moondyne) has been confined to one end of the house for his own protection. And yesterday he (Dougie) followed SWMBO into the chook pen. Fortunately the good wife turfed him out pronto before he could do any harm although he did chase a few I believe. Parts of the front yard are off-limits to him also, they're refuges for lizards and bandicoots. 41 minutes ago, Neil1956 said: who swiped her snout with a claw.... OUCH! I wish Moondyne would do that to Dougie, to put him in his place, the bottom of the pecking order (seniority). I don't know our new dog's history but we get the impression he has had cause to fear men, some of his reactions . . . But I think he's becoming to trust us. He adores my wife and has become very protective of her. Regards, Jeff.
waghorn41 Posted February 28 Posted February 28 One for those with a strong stomach - here's one of me taken a couple of years ago. I'm not photogenic so you really don't want to see any others. self with 'Heidi' by Ian Pursey, on Flickr 4 1

Call me Van if you must, a nick name I was called at work some 45 years ago. Sadly all I see is a blue square. Hopefully it’s just a minor glitch and the photo will show up soon.

ArnoldAmbrose Posted March 21 Posted March 21 G'day Russ aka @Blacque Jacque, You're obviously doing your Barry Manilow impersonation act! 🤣 But seriously (well, as much as we can be on this site) I'm a fan in years gone by of Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Blue Oyster Cult, Led Zeppelin etc. I still like their stuff, even though I'm now 68. In the photo you look to be of a similar genre. And welcome aboard to Britmodeller. Regards, Jeff. 1
Blacque Jacque Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Thanks Jeff. Probably more James Last 😆 Yeah, always been in that ballpark, just a tad younger than thee, so UFO, Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest etc, although the bands you mentioned are of course the foundation stones of what I call "Classic Rock". 1

billn53 Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Here’s a photo I just found while looking through a box of old stuff. It’s me way back in 1974, when I was on a US Navy recruiting tour of a ballistic missile sub. It must have been successful, because soon afterwards I signed up. Bill 5 1

G'day, good point. Have you seen the film "The Bedford Incident" staring Richard Widmark, Sidney Poitier, James MacArthur and Martin Balsam? (And read the book too). Must be careful when you use the term/word. But at least you didn't say "Torpedo Los!" 😁 Regards, Jeff. 2
