Lord Riot
Each main undercarriage leg is made up of 6 separate parts, five of which are quite fiddly. In fact, one was made up of 5 parts, as one strut was missing from this second hand kit. Once glued in place they fit well though and seem strong enough if handled carefully. However, the three tiny decals for one of the struts won't curve around, the surface is just too small. So I stuck them down with paint instead. I replaced the missing strut with a thin piece of plastic from the spares box, bent over the end and filled the join with Clearfix to round off the corner. I'll paint it once it's all dry tomorrow. Lord Riot
The main undercarriage looks pretty sturdy once fitted, and slots in nicely. All level, which is always a relief! I remember models I made as a kid with lopsided undercarriage, staggering on the shelves like they'd had a few beers.
Lord Riot
Jaguar update, and she's almost done! The undercarriage fits really well, it's a very good kit this, even the tiny fiddly aerials have holes to fit into or clear locations so you can't go wrong. For 1/48th though some of the parts are tiny! The airbrakes need care when fitting to line up the hydraulic jack correctly, but look ok once fitted. I do need to sort the starboard inner tyre out though! Despite including a reasonable ejector seat and cockpit decals, there was no option to display the canopy open, so I made my own little hinge ... And this will be the stores fit:
Filler
Good work fixing the undercarriage problem. It's looking very good and you're way ahead of me now.
