German Destroyer Z-25 in 1/350

Recommended Posts

Hello and welcome to my latest finished ship.

It's the Trumpeter 1/350 Scale Z-25 from 1944 (that's what the box said, I have no idea if this ship looked like this at that point of time...)

Historical accuracy is not my top priority, I just want a model that looks good on the shelf.

I built this using the box's P/E with the addition of eduard's railings set for this kit. I was a bit disappointed Trumpeter left them out.

I used Revell enamel paints for the base colors, washes from Games Workshop, Revell weathering pigments and oil paints.

The Anchor chains might be a bit on the big side but the ones molded on looked crappy... I used the chain that artworx include in their wooden decks (not used for this model)

I drilled out all Portholes and filed out all windows but I haven't been brave enough to try kristal Klear for glazing them...

The rigg is made from uschi's fine line.

I might have overdone the weathering a bit but I guess WW2 ships had not that much time for hull painting every other week...

okay enough said here's the pictures:
