Last minute change of plan...

Unfortunately the Unicraft kit I was going to build has Decals missing to add to the other "built in" challenges ! Therefore given the need for speed and wanting to keep the Luft 46 theme going I have gone for this;

If anyone can give me a clue as to what the mottled camouflage is supposed to look like and appropriate Humbrol colours I would be eternally grateful !

Given 4 kids in the house and a list of jobs to do this weekend from SWMBO, it will be a dipping in and out when I get a moments peace technique for the Blitzbuild.

Good luck everyone !

Right, just a quick session to feel like I have at least made a start

Lots of flash to remove from the parts, and a bit of painting

So tomorrow look for the correct paints and try to evade detection so I can make some more progress

Seriously sinister looking aircraft, would like to do one

I find a good way to get peace is to say I’m going to put air in the tyres at the garage darling.....shut the front door and creep into the study/ model room, it’s always a good couple of hours before she discovers me or phones me

Good luck with the build and hiding

Another potential stumbling block to me completing this GB, is I had an operation on the back of my hand last week.

IMG_4004

This is the before photo, the NHS have tried to freeze the thing off on 4 previous occasions so they decided to remove it surgically. Now before you look at the next photo, if you like horror films you will love this, and no I didn't do it myself !

Yes it does nip a bit to be honest, but Mrs Jockney assures me working out in the garden moving topsoil will take my mind off things !

Those hideous objects are actual human feet.  It's partly my own fault and partly due to the prescribed drugs I have to take now - anyway !!yuk!! - self-pity moment over.  It's not too bad now.

Sorry Dave.

It looks like RLM 81 Braunviolett and RLM 83 Dunkelgrün mottle over a RLM 76 Lichtblau base.

Humbrol matches are 251, 253 and 247, respectively.

HTH!

Further progress

Seat fitted, homemade (yes they look it) seat belts and rear of jets before closing up.

IMG_4014

Parts need to be cut into pieces, like the undercarriage covers

IMG_4015

Surprising little filler needed on the seems

IMG_4016

Finally a coat of grey underneath, why grey ?

Well that would be telling !

Masked and painted the underside last night, before going into Oban to see Mission Impossible (insert current number !)

Then an Indian carry out, that's take away for people on the wrong side of Hadrians Wall :D

Stitches out today so it will be the big push for the finish line good luck everyone !

That's looking good - I reckon you've broken the back on this one.

Good luck with the stitches - hope it's not too sore.

Ok I'm calling this done

To be a bit different as you will notice I decided that my Luft 46 would still include the Italians so as I love this type of camouflage and have benn wanting to have a go at it..... Why not combine the two !
