BIG X
Looks like a Lanc to me - great job - keep it up. This is a true classic Airfix build - non of all that Tamiya 1/48 nonsense - proper modelling.... 2

Rabbit Leader
I’m so intrigued by these kits that I’ve seen where painting takes place before main assembly. I thought this was no longer an accepted practice, however it’s obvious that it works for some judging by the lovely results achieved when finished. This Lanc is looking particularly good. Cheers.. Mancunian airman
Not much of an update as I had to rush over to Manchester yesterday . . . . Mid-upper prep . . . Free-hand rear & fronts . . . . More to come Ian

Just finishing the mid-upper turret and a strip on the front turret then I can put them together . . . . Mancunian airman
Didn't really want to take a close-up photo but here are the completed turrets and canopy. ( I will touch up the guns where they cut from the sprue) I will try and fix them all in the fuselage tonite . . . . The wings and tailplanes are all complete so its just about there, almost finished. Ian Edited September 5, 2018 by Mancunian airman

Mancunian airman
A Snap shot of the completed model. Back to work in 10 mins so I shall post in the gallery early next week. PS Not a single rivet was removed nor was any filler employed, just as all Airfix models made back in the day 🙂 Ian Edited September 7, 2018 by Mancunian airman
BIG X
Fantastic Job Ian - saviour of the rivets
Rabbit Leader
That looks great Ian and claps all round for the river retention and banishment of filler. What a fantastic tribute to this Airfix Classic kit and ‘G for George’. Cheers.. Dave
Ventora3300
Brilliant finish, Ian, just the way I remember building my Lancaster all those years ago. Just don't drop anything on it! Cheers. Mike 2

TonyW
That looks brilliant. There's no mistaking it for anything other than Avro's finest. Tony

Mancunian airman
As one can only have five photos in the gallery I thought I would get these two in here . . . . The wings just needed a little fettling to get a snug fit as I dont tend to glue the wings in place so I can dismantle for storage. This kit has probably the best canopy of the early Lancaster kits but I think the front turret shape lets down this kit . . . There are more photos in the gallery of the completed model.
