1/72 Airfix Hawker Hurricane Mk.I

Recommended Posts

I shouldn't be doing this, starting another, but I am a little sick of filling, sanding, undercoating and inspecting and repeating.

There should be not much filling on this, famous last words.

Going to go from this to finished in a week and also work on the Concorde.  It is also supposed to be raining over the weekend so no telescope.

More progress.

Painted the prop.

The white side of the aircraft.  I thought I would try something different and paint the fabric part of the plane a fabric colour, but the second photograph does not show this effect very well.

Maybe a new image in the morning.

🤔 I’ve got two of these in the line-up thanks for a great idea. I will definitely try this as well.

Update time.  Repainted the white, I didn't think there was much difference between the fabric and metal parts of the model.

This is the dark earth part of the camo scheme.  I achieved this by painting the metal parts black and the fabric white and then applying the dark earth.

I don't know if I need to add more colour or not.  Input please.

Would aircraft at this time of the war become very weathered???

More progress.  Painting finished and decals on.

This is probably the worst paint job I have done in quite a while.  Some of the decals have silvered and the paint is rough.

I will just have to build another.

Another build of this very fine kit. I really enjoyed my build earlier this year, exactly in that scheme, and you are doing a fantastic job there. I like the way you masked the demarcation between black/white before putting the various air scoops on .... very wise. Mine was a devil to mask!

I have another in the stash and the Alleycat metal wing conversion, so may attempt that soon!

Really looking forward to seeing your's complete.
