Bughunter
After the great interest in my finished diorama I like to show some progress pics from the build. Until this build I thought I own a large folding tool: Some brass profiles inside helped during folding: ... which is sometimes a bit complicated: The parts are soldered: The GPS sensor on the backplate: A huge amount of resin: And some pictures of the soldering, from below: Well engineered, the profile consists of single plates: That is the only bigger gap: In case you miss it, the final result is here: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235041680-daisy-cutter-moab-in-eglin-eduard-148/ There are some more pictures, if there is interest ... jckspratt1
Well, I'd have given up - and thrown the mangled remains in the bin - after about the second fold. I avoid any PE like the plague, so I have nothing but the utmost respect for those of you that work such wonders with it. This is wonderful work.

Bughunter
Thank you very much! I really like to work with PE and after building some of the very famous Eduard Stripdown series (also shown here) the huge amount of PE in this kit (5 bigger sheets) was the reason for me to buy this kit. The idea to create a small diorama (my first one) and even adding a figure (also my first one) to show the huge size comes later after the work on this kit was started with discussions with friends and modelers in a german model forum. fewr9fkr9595
Very nice! Had my eye on one of these for a while. May wimp out and get the 1/72 version though... Tony

If I interpret the pictures on Eduard site correctly, the PE is identical, all parts just smaller - if you build that I will be full of respect! Good luck and fun with it, Frank
Bughunter
Some further impressions ... The wood work is started: Prepared the backplate Street with sanding paper, cardboard, ... Cutting the chars from Evergreen was a lot of work, but I don't found some in that font and size: But I like the result I soldered a panel: A picture of a walkaround helped: Source: primeportal.net Cutted a reworked to print it on a decal to apply it on Bare Metal foil: Cheers, Frank 3

Bughunter
Thank you! And some more, I guess this will be the last update. The GBU is fixed to the the framing by belts: Source: primeportal.net (Bill Spidle) Here I recycled some 0.1mm fabric Eduard/HGW seatbelts: I increased the cut outs (some are at the wrong place in the kit), drilled 16 holes and added 0.4mm brass clamps. Last PE Painted with Alclad White Aluinium. The platform is not there in the museum at the moment, but I have older pics with that plate. Maybe the lost one in Afghanistan The side parts are many resin parts. On the base: Nice resin fins: Since I can't do a model without rigging ... For the belts I created fasteners from 0.1mm brass and 0.33mm Nickel silver. 32 drills Bolts are soldered. The belts are glued to the GBU .. ... and bound to the frame. I prefer to rig three biplanes!!! My first painted face: So, that's all. The result you know from the completed Diorama section.
