Blue Steel Vulcan Squadrons.

Appealing to the hive mind here...

 

I know that 617 were Blue Steel equipped on the Vulcan but which other squadrons were so equipped?

All?

 

I am planning on a B Mk 2 Vulcan with 301 engines as a build, I have the 617 squadron decals but wondered what other squadrons used the weapon and the 301 engined Vulcans at the same time.

according to the Osprey book 26 Vulcans plus the trials aircraft were modified and assigned to 27, 83 and 617 with 2 kept as spares.  All with the Scampton Wing

 

I have the serial numbers of each aircraft if you want them?  cant help on the 301 engine question sorry

since the above have looked at another source Bulman on The Vulcan B2 and it looks like 7 Vulcans with Blue Steel capability went to 9 Sqn  at Coningsby and also 230 OCU got some.  Its all looking like a moving feast at times.  Send me a PM and I can maybe send you chapter and verse in more detail on airframes.  looks like a fair bit of retrofitting the 301 engines to airframes that originally had Olympus 201's

XM575 flew with 617 as a Blue Steel carrier and had Olympus 301s.
