RNZAF Blunty

Recommended Posts

After the 1/48th Voodoo, what a contrast, a 1/144th Strikemaster.  It is from the new Miniwings kit and represents a 14 Squadron RNZAF machine towards the end of it career after the mid life repaint.

The box art shows the wrong serials and codes but thankfully the decal sheet is correct.

I added the blade aerial on the spine and the cartridge ejection ports under the intakes but chickened out at adding the LORAN aerial under the fuselage.

Thanks for looking

That looks rather sweet. It is a bit tiny too isn't it? I've an Airfix one lingering in limbo currently. to be done in the same scheme. It's not very big so at half size & to get a result like that. Brilliant. 👍

I built the old Matchbox and Airfix 1/72nd scale ones more years ago than I care to remember, then the Aeroclub 1/48 scale multimedia kit so this completes the set. The flash from the camera  doesn't do my painting any favours.

Very nice !!!  :clap2:-  Never knew you could get them in 1/144 scale - you learn some thing new everyday

I still have the old Airfix one I built as a teenager boxed away.

Still remember vividly, looking over one as young cadet at Wigram.

Thanks for sharing
