tc2324
A little something, (if you can call the Airfix 1/24 scale kit `little`), I have been working on and off for the last few months based on one of the residents now based at the Manston fire dump. I wanted to do something a little different from the usual Harrier builds you see and after my visit to Manston last September, this wreck caught me eye. To put it into context what I was trying to replicate here are a couple of pictures of the real thing...., ..... and now for my effort...., Thanks for looking. 62 2

PhantomBigStu
Excellent TC, btw the photo you posted last night gave me a shock of horror, having broken a fair few canopies recently to see someone deliberately mutilating one was too much too bear

KelT
That's amazing. It must have been difficult to break apart a perfectly good kit but the results are well worth the sacrifice. My only comment is that you forgot the little yellow flowers near the starboard intake. 🙂

kapam
Amazing model, diorama/vignette and subject! It is something of a shock to see (what was) a hi-tech, mega-expensive, complex machine rotting in a field. Doubtless all the best bits have been removed, but it is still a little emotional to see it in this state. That makes your build even more poignant - a tableau to a once-proud warrior, you might say.
Ian
Just superb, simple as that. Ian.

tc2324
Thanks for the comments all. 👍 Absolutely appreciate this isn`t going float everyone's boat, it was purely the challenge of pushing myself and if your familiar with my builds, you know I`m not one to do the `norm`. Fishbed
Oh, that's sad. well executed though 🙂 Tim
jenko
Having seen this in the flesh. Manston is when my model club hangs out and we have been on the dump several times. I can say that is a perfect representation of the real thing. Nice one Dick
Head in the clouds.
I love going for days out looking at wrecks and relics, your build has captured the Harrier as you wanted, your skills are on the up sir. Super build.

goggsy
That’s fantastic work, really convincing. I love to see derelict aircraft modelled well, much more challenging than a standard build.

Team Aer Lingus
Brilliant work TC I've peeked over the hedge at Manston a few times always makes me a little sad especially the Tiger squadron F-4 looking nearly intact. You've done an amazing job capturing the Harrier and in the large scale kudos to you thanks for sharing regards Eamonn
