Anyway I made a start on it this afternoon. Also found my local modelling shop shut till further this morning to my dismay, hoping things aren’t bad with the owner, but i need paint, which will have to be ordered as an amazon add on, so a kit will be needed to boost over the threshold, and amazon have both the mkviii weekend and mkixe profipack with tasty options elligible for this

PhantomBigStu
Missed documenting it, but got it together last week, and today did some sanding and painting of both this and my classic GB mossie, though for some odd reason I painted both ocean grey first
Giorgio N
Cockpit looks good ! And I see that you correctly painted some areas in green and some in silver... 😁 As a Spit fanatic I love seeing these details right on models 👍

PhantomBigStu
Forgot about this one, will be back on the agenda over the weekend, and maybe I’ll add a Finnish hawk to the mix using the airfix kit and italeri decals....
Giorgio N
We still have around a month, plenty of time to finish this and I'll be glad to see a Hawk !
PhantomBigStu
Hmm we’ll see on the hawk front now, but the spit wasn’t back on, had a little paint double so stripped it back, just put the first new coat of mid stone
PhantomBigStu
Given up, wing tips kept falling off, not going to try and make the deadline either with this or a hawk. Going to pay less attention to group builds now, build what I want to. And on that note I will move this to the WIP to build an airfix Harrier GR5 or maybe an raf sabre.... Sturmovik
Why did the wingtips keep falling off? Are they butt joined to the wing?

Probably a function of how little contact area there is given it’s thinnes. Anyway here’s the Harrier parts
