P-40N, Special Hobby 1/72.

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon, dear colleagues! I present to you my latest model P-40N from the SH. In comparison with Hasegawa it is much more correct and precise. The only thing that was added - canvas covers and gunsights.

It looks very good, great finish ! I also envisage to build this kit soon. I would have liked the same plane in 1/48 : does anybody know which is the better P-40E/N version in 1/48 scale ? I mean we can easily find a P-40 early version in 1/48 (Academy, Airfix... ) but not these..

Great looking Burma Banshee  ... Hello @Poupichoups ... The “N” was done by Hasegawa and AMT in 1/48. I've done the AMT kit recently but not the Hasegawa one. They both fairly accurate with engraved lines. They both have pro’s & cons. The details are softer on the old AMT kit. The Hasegawa has a seperate tail that is hard to line up perfectly.

Lovely work on the finish and weathering. Did you also add the rivet lines?

I need to add a P-40 to my list.

David
