Airfix Boulton Paul Defiant 1/72

Recommended Posts

Have just started Airfix's lovely new Defiant in 1/72. So far all has gone well, the kit practically builds itself!

However, I can't seem to find the FS number that best matches RAF Dark Green so that I can buy a bottle of it, preferably Model Master.

Does anyone know what that number is?

Photo's will follow, hopefully tomorrow if the weather improves.

Thanks, Tweener

WWII RAF Dark Green rather predates the modern FS standards. However Testors still lists that colour in what used to be the Model Master II line.

They also make Sky but not Dark Earth.

I have a few bottles of RAF Dark Earth ANA 617 in acrylic...is it discontinued now?

There is no FS 595 number for WW II RAF Dark Green, as FS 595 did not come into use until the 1950s and is a standard for US government colors only. I don't know the current Humbrol equivalent, but Colourcoats and Xtracolor both have WW II RAF Dark Green in their ranges.
