banzaiduke
Just painted the first colour of Red primer for the Kugels turret but with a top hatch open, would the factory have had time and resources to paint the interior the normal ivory? Not found much info on the web seeing as only a handfull were produced. Thanks in advance!!
Kingsman
You see a lot of people modelling other late-war German tanks, like the recent rash of King Tiger kits with interiors, with red primer interiors. There is a general belief that many late war tanks were not even fully painted outside, with the red primer doubling for Rotbraun with Dunkelbelb applied as a camo colour. In which case, painting the interiors seems highly unlikely. So there is a strong argument for leaving the interior - and indeed the exterior - in red primer. But bearing in mind that for all practical purposes the Kugelblitz is essentially a Paper Panzer (only 2 prototypes built?), seeing the Kugelblitz in service would have needed the war to have continued into 1946 and thus to have taken a different course in the East from mid-1943 and the West from late 1944. That theoretical situation is unpredictable, in which case a degree of licence may be permissible. If you can get hold of a pair of Schatton Modellbau MK103 brass cannon barrels, these are really nice. They even have separate little tubes for the muzzle brake. Just be careful which ones you order as he does a 1/32 version too for aircraft. Back in the mists of time when Paper Panzers interested me, I had a concept for a "production" Kugelblitz model with a hull MG, Panther-style additional armour on the rear deck and StuG IV style low-top "swinging" Schurzen (the ones mounted on a central tube pivot on the trackguard) over the suspension (Armorscale do these IIRC). A mix of rubber-tyred and all-steel wheels might have been appropriate.
banzaiduke
Thanks for the answer . With such a small amount built and the timing of production , i think all primer is the way to go.
