Missing parts

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm stuck with two builds due to missing parts:

Trumpeter 02851 Seafang F.MK.32 - missing the small gear - part D8.

Revell 4504 or 5524 - A-26B Invader, missing the following parts:

- 18 - Control Column

- 20 - Wing Spar Bulkhead

- 49 - Instrument Panel

- 50 - Nose Bulkhead

- 8 X (61+62) - all the bombs parts.

If you have spares, able to replicate these or know where I can get replacements - pls. let me know.

BR

Hi,

Have you ever try to copy parts in resin? Of course what you need is the part you need but from one you do two. It is not difficult, just try.

Perhaps ypu need another, complete model, but then you can build second A-26....

1. Take the part apart of sprue but not sand it - the surface must be untouched

2. Press out  some silicon rubber from tube (and press your part to be completly covered by silicon (from side you need - or wraped around)

3. Let it dry for about 1 week (depends on you silicon and environmental conditions, I 've heard that silicon needs water (steam from air) for solidification.

4. gently remove part from silicons. If it is dry it goes easy. If silicon was not 100% fixed you have to repeat whole process.

5. Use epoxy glue with slow polimerisation (24 h, not 1 minut) and fill the vain in silicon with this glue.

You may try on some other small plastic element to get some practice (for example on piece of sprue)

Then you will need CA glue, not styrene for attaching the part.

Regards

  • 1 month later...

Got this from Revell today - superb customer care.

Contacted them through the Revell Germany site -

I did get some response from someone who can get my the Trumpeter parts - but the cost of the part ($5) plus the shipping ($9) - was almost the half the cost of a new kit. Skipped that
