Robert Stuart
That's a good choice of subject JB, very appropriate.
Jb65rams
Made a start, not too many parts and going together quickly. Looks like the best way to build and paint as a series of sub assemblies, avoiding any complicated masking. Chassis assembled and painted.

Sgt.Squarehead
Looks good to me too.....I'll be following with interest as I may well be building it's little brother (I believe the middle brother may make an appearance in the GB too, from @SleeperService).

Jb65rams
This one is back on the bench, having been put to one side to complete by Airfix Golden Years entry. Constructed the body, painted the internals white using a Halfords rattle can. Then given a light wash to tone down the white. Mounted to the chassis and the driver cab built up. I took the decision to remove the canvas windscreen, as I thought it spoilt the look.

Jb65rams
Bit of an update. Wheels on and decals applied. I am proposing to display this on a small base, looking something like the mock up below.
Jb65rams
Made a start on painting the figures. Diorama base made from a spreading some filler on a spare plastic bass. These painted with various shades of brown. Need to look at getting some scenic grass.
Jb65rams
The postman bought a few scenic supplies in the last week. Spent the morning working on the display bases, I'm happy with the way it has turned out. Finished the ambulance and placed on display. A few touch ups to be made and it will be ready for the gallery.

Brandy
Lovely. The spare tyre on the side reminds me of a story my grandfather told me. He was a driver in East Africa, and got hold of one of the first US ambulances. Apparently he forgot the spare wheel hung out from the offside. He turned into a hospital a little too close to the gate and the spare wheel took it down! Ian
