bianfuxia Posted July 17, 2018 Share Posted July 17, 2018 (edited) Well this is my first ever "Ready for Inspection" post on Britmodeller, though I'm not new to modeling and have participated in - and even occasionally completed - a few group builds here. I like the forum - lots of friendly people and plenty of modeling happening. Anyway, I just finished this in the Carriers Ahoy Group Build and tonight took a few more photos after sprucing up the build with a few paint touch ups and a few more finished aircraft. It's here in the beautiful blue seas of contested waters...in Japan they call these waters the Sofa Couchu Sea and in China they call it the Shafa Chuang Sea...haha. Also it's escorted somewhat improbably by another ASW ship, the Chikugo, which in real life went out of service a few years before Izumo came in. But I don't have any other modern Japanese ships finished. Anyway, hope you enjoy it. It's a 1/700 kit by Hasegawa and comes with everything you see on deck plus a few trucks and even a 1/700 Patriot launch truck. The kit is completely OOB. bianfuxia Posted July 18, 2018 Author Share Posted July 18, 2018 It's just for helicopters but apparently Japan, or parts of the Japanese system, are quietly considering whether to get the jumpjet F-35 version for it. I think it would need some mods to do that, from what (little) i have read, and also China is not so keen on that of course and that's a factor to consider.
