ProfSparks
Hi All Here are the results of my Airfix Mk.22 and PRXIX, and Hawk Mk.22(24)ish builds. All done OOB, except the Hawk is wearing the second option from the Airfix Mk.22. Thanks to Ced and everyone for the inspiration and company. Comments and suggestions welcome Cheers Steve
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Excellent Trio Particularly like the Swedish Recon Spitfire.
JosephLalor
Cracking stuff. Given that it's such an old kit, the Hawk Spitfire came out looking quite attractive, like a Mk 21 would look if there had been a low-back version. ProfSparks
Hi All Thanks guys, I love the Swedish one too, but you're not supposed to have favourites (it's the Hawk!) That PRU Blue is such a good looking scheme. it makes me want to build a proper one now. It'll have to wait, so many plans! Cheers Steve

stevehnz
A brilliant trio there Steve. I like them all but unexpectedly, my favourite has to be the Hawk, if I ignore the wings, its got a great, late war Mk XIV bubble top look to it. Awesome any way you look at it. Steve.
ProfSparks
Hi All On 7/18/2018 at 8:01 AM, Vinnie said: What paints did you use? Hi Vinnie, the PRXIX is Vallejo Model Air 71.019 UK PRU Blue, the silver Mk.22 is Vallejo Game Colour 72.052 Silver (as I don't have Aluminium yet), and the Hawk is Tamiya XF-81 Dark Green 2 (RAF) and XF-83 Medium Sea Grey 2 (RAF) over XF-21 Sky, all done with my cantankerous cheap airbrush. I much prefer the Vallejo Model Air at this stage, as it's pre-mixed to spray and I can put in five drops of colour if I want. The Tamiya reminds me of my Humbrol experiments as I have to pour in from a pot and add thinners. I make up too much and tend to cover too thick rather than waste the paint. Anyhoo, interesting times ahead! Cheers Steve
