Beard
I know Tony O'Toole has done this one in 1/48 but I've fancied doing one in 1/72 for a while and, since I've found some suitable SAAF B-type roundels, I'm going to give it a go. Here's the profile: and the kit I'll be using: The sprues, in the bag: and out of the bag: I've made a start, by clipping the wings: because KP give you the bits for the clipped wingtips: and painting some bits with Humbrol 33: You have to remember which holes to drill for the cannon bulges: I'll be assembling and painting the cockpit then sit outside with a pint of Ghost Ship. Thanks for looking.

It certainly is a great scheme, I've already done a Kittyhawk IV in it and I think some Mustang IIIs wore it as well. *heads off to look for photographs*
Beard
Nearly ready for paint... Thanks for looking.
Beard
The airframe is complete (don't mention the rudder... I know I've left it off) so a coat of Dark Earth is in order. I've done quite a few in the Desert scheme lately so feels odd to be painting DE over Azure Blue. Thanks for looking.
Beard
Two coats of Dark Earth done and it's ready for the Dark Green. Thanks for looking.
Beard
A couple of coats of Colourcoats Dark Green have been applied. It's my usual dark green but, perhaps because I haven't used it lately, looks a little odd. Thanks for looking. Edited July 15, 2018 by Beard to correct spelling.
Beard
Been away for a week but back today so some of the transfers have been applied. I have got some SAAF B-type roundels in the spares box but I'll need to do the yellow leading edges first. Thanks for looking.
Beard
A lack of updates on this one, because I've been busy doing other things, but it's nearly there... A small setback: I dropped the canopy last night and forgot to pick it up, you can imagine what happened this morning. I've emailed AZ, to see if I can buy a replacement, in the meantime I'll pinch a canopy from another. Thanks for looking.
