1:72 B-25J "Sandbar Mitchell" Firebomber

Recommended Posts

I recently finished this off in the B-25 STGB and thought I'd share the results here.  It's the new Airfix B-25C/D converted to a J and then converted again to a firebomber that crash-landed in Alaska, and is now being restored to flight.  It was a lot of work to do the conversion (there's more differences between the D and the J than I thought!) but I thoroughly enjoyed it :)

You can find the build here:

Anyway, on with the pictures!!

Excellent work.!

The paint chipping and general worn look of this civilian workhorse are spot on.

I really like the non-military take on this ubiquitous aircraft.

Fantastic work Beggsy, I first heard the Sandbar Mitchell story on WarbirdRadio but I think this is the first time I've seen these photos. And what a beautiful representation! I love the paintwork, and the water doors. Beautiful.
