M_Sinclair
Finished this one a few days ago but been busy with friends and celebrating Canada Day. As a result it took a while before I had time to post the final photos. This was one of my shelf queens and on top of that, my first ever attempt at a WWI subject. As a result, despite the many flaws this was an extremely satisfying project to finish. Not much else to add. I'm starting the old Testors YF-12, also in 1/48 and it's hilarious to see the two together. The Fokker is just so tiny! It's not much bigger than my Meng "egg plane" Lancaster. 20180701-MJS_2706 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20180701-MJS_2713 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20180701-MJS_2716 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20180701-MJS_2737 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20180701-MJS_2744 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20180701-MJS_2747 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20180701-MJS_2754 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr 20180701-MJS_2756 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr Apologies for forgetting to get rid of the dust marks from my lens. Andy Moore
Fantastic looking build Matt. I really like the way you've shaded the yellow, and the mud splattered weathering looks great. Andy
M_Sinclair
Thank you very much Andy. Yeah those small touches made me a lot happier with how it came out. Unfortunately... last night I was going to put the Fokker into my display case. Aaaand as I gently moved another model out of the way, the Fokker on its base slipped and took her unexpected maiden flight. So yeah. Due to me being clumsy the Fokker went from one single piece back to three. Fuselage, wing and landing gear assembly. I will at at some point attempt to repair her. But there’s no guarantee I’ll be successful. A little annoying as I managed to drop a 1/48 Corsair back in February. But hey at least this one I did actually get to finish and take photographic proof that can build WWI. Anyhoo. Crap happens. When I’ve made some proper progress I’ll post some photos of the 1/48 YF-12 that’s now on my bench. Cheers and beware of gravity! For she is a harsh mistress. -matt
