1/48 Tamiya M1A2 Abrams

Made a start on this as a break from my WNW Camel build. 

 

 

I spent a enjoyable few days assembling the Abrams, well more so the PE, as the kit is the usual Tamiya 48 scale armour kit, a perfect combination of detail and ease of build.

 

It was good to try out some more complicated PE that what I usually use. I learnt a bit, burnt my fingers more than once but I'm pretty happy with the result, only lost 1 ammo box to the carpet monster.

That said whilst the PE s definitely better than the plastic, I'm not sure I'd bother on this kit again. The Tamiya plastic is in the main parts the PE replace is pretty nice.

 

 

 

 

 

 

OH, Tamiya please do more modern MBT's in 48 scale, including more variants of the Abrams. IMHO it's great armour scale.

Have got back onto this build after getting side tracked with a couple of aircraft. I've pretty much finished the vehicle but need to figure out what to do with a base

Lovely work, I agree that /48th is good scale for AFV, shame there aren't more manufacturer trying it.
