Knight_Flyer
1/72 Airfix Hawker Typhoon Ib, 440 (RCAF) Squadron, "Pulverizer II" F/O Harry Hardy DFC Built for the Hawker GB. This aircraft also fits neatly into my nose art theme as well as Canadian. Decals are aftermarket as the Airfix kit has markings for a different RCAF Typhoon. Build itself is typical Airfix. They seem to want you to fit a whole load of parts before closing the fuselage. In this case - cockpit floor with seat and instrument panel, lower wing, radiator housing and the tail wheel. The wing to fuselage join is never perfect either requiring filler, sanding etc Advise is the usual, do a lot of dry fitting and come up with a plan to make assembly as perfect as possible. I tried to keep the weathering to a minimum as possible - not quite factory fresh and to have flown a few missions. If you notice, the second row of mission markings are painted brooms. This was to represent fighter sweeps All in all, not a bad kit and tempted to build another one armed with rockets... although I heard Airfix didn't do a good job replicating them.

kapam
Excellent build! I have built the Academy Typhoon kit, but somehow this Airfix version looks more "correct". In any case you've done an awesome job and the nose art looks great.
IanC
Excellent. I love the markings. I found the Typhoon to be one of Airfix's better kits in terms of fit, and certainly looks the part.

Knight_Flyer
Thanks guys Not exactly a shake and bake kit but probably good it offers a bit of a challenge. Certainly am quite happy with the way the "reinvented" Airfix models have turned out.
