Soviet Guards Aviation B-25, 1/72 Airfix

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Here is my latest completed model, its Airfix's excellent new 1/72 B-25 C/D built as an aircraft operated by the 13th Guards Long Range Aviation Regiment and sporting a temporary Winter camo scheme applied over the standard Olive Drab over Neutral Grey that the aircraft was delivered in.

Not much to say about the build as it was a very smooth process and I didn't have any issues at all and can heartily recommend this kit to anyone who has an interest in this aircraft, and I usually build in 1/48 scale. Anyway here are the pics, sorry but there are rather a lot of them as I got carried away in the sunshine!

Sorry for all the pics.

Here's a link to the WIP which was done as part of the B-25 STGB which you really should check out as there are some excellent builds.

Thanks for looking and all comments and criticisms are gratefully received.

Craig.

Hi Craig. As I said in you build thread - you have done a superb job both with your model and it's whitewash camo finish. Very well done. :thumbsup:

Kind regards,

Stix

It takes real guts to photograph ones models up so close, but in this case it just highlight's your excellent modelling abilities with this fantastic Mitchell.

This is a real work of art and suits the scale of this excellent replica.

Cheers and very well done.. Dave

Superb build, great to see in Russian scheme. Any idea what the words say on the fuselage?

Thanks @pizzapaolo it does indeed say "Avenger" as @Gazontipede said.

Wonderful job Craig,...... I love this scheme and the weathered whitewash is done to perfection,...... which is easier said than done!

Cheers

Wot others have said ,what did you use to mask the canopy and the other clear bits?

Thanks.

The canopy and clear parts were all masked using the Eduard pre-cut set, a real time and effort saver in this scale and all the masks fitted perfectly.

Every time I look at one of these builds of this seemingly excellent kit makes me think 'gotta get one'.  Now I Really have to get one after seeing this.

Fabulous work!

As another commenter said, your willingness to bring the camera in close surely testifies to superior building skills.

The worn, winter finish is superb too.

Nice to see a B-25 in Soviet markings for a change.  That temporary winter camouflage is fantastically well done.
