corsaircorp Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Hello Dears I Know, I know but it's atry to make my threads less confusing… Even for myself You know the "Where did I saw this info ??? " And then you're on for looking at 200 différents pages for not finding what you were looking for …. I already post some news from this build, now everything will be at the same place ! At least, I'll try to …. I have a load of builds that are not in WiP just because I started it well before entering this wonderfull forum. So stop babblin' CC !! Here we go, started in June 2016, the project is to turn the Monogram A1-H into an AD-4NA But as I love to build 2 aircraft of the same type and doing some crossings I'll use this one for a project that I wanted to do since the first time I readed about... So one for Korea and the other one for Viet Nam… No jealousy !! The Tamiya one will receive this ... To the one who already know me, that will not be stunning…. Don't you worry, the kitchen sink will be done but not at this time... I already have collected some payload The bomb came from an Haseg weapons box done in the '80... Both Skyraider will receive a resin interior… But given the 2 différents time… Not the same interior colors …. Ok more to come soon ! 4
corsaircorp Posted June 29, 2018 Author Posted June 29, 2018 The AD-4NA is at the time used for attack duties, the rear compartment was emptied but the door is still present. I did get the Meteor Prod kit for unarmoured Spads, It's made for the Tamiya Kit, and I use a Monogram one… WSSS ???? The Monogram's plastic is easier to work on, it softer… So I did use the resin kit as a guide And sand out all the armour plates !! A bit of work last on the undersides but the fuselages can be called done ! Ok, Dears, It's one more CC WiP, hope that you'll enjoy it ! Speaking of Korea and @CedB intense surgery…. Just guess where this act of torture Healing took place … Have a great modelling Week End !! And take care, Some plastic rippers are astray…. Sincerely. CC 3 2
Azgaron Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Skyraider is a pretty cool plane! Good start and nice work so far, CC! Håkan 1
corsaircorp Posted June 30, 2018 Author Posted June 30, 2018 Hello dears, What did I do ??? Hum A Hole (Not in a tooth) And used the @perdu total war machine… Skyraider time for now, I Don't know why and how long but Still marching on !!! Have a great Sunny Sunday. Sincerely. CC 9
f111guru Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Nice work on the AD Skyraider. I've built a number of them over the years. The first was the same Monogram kit and back dated to an AEW-1. Started with a very coarse file and ended use one on the wife's emery boards to smooth it out. Sorry poor quality. Could not afford a fancy camera. From the mid 1980's Ron VanDerwarker 2 1

I will you use the ESCI one but I will do some modifications before ! Great job ! Congrats ! Sincerely. CC 1
corsaircorp Posted July 1, 2018 Author Posted July 1, 2018 Hello Dears ! Ok, now we can sing "Knock Knock Knock on Skyraider door " As it was overpainted I Don't care for the transparencies... I saved the translucent door for a next build, More CCesque !! I will scratch the whole rear compratment for another Korean war project A little bit of sanding or trimming from the Inside and this could be called done !! Aaaand just a pic from our Mantrailing training in the Morning... My good lady and me after the work 34°C one must stay hydrated sooooo ! My wife, a chilled blue Chimay and a Panther (with the union jack)… What else ??? Ok, tomorrow I restart evening work Week, So have a great modelling time Folks !! Sincerely. CC 7

f111guru Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 CC, It was a straight scratch conversion. I used lots of 30 and 40 thousands sheet plastic and heat molded the intake vent and outer wing slats. I had the AEW.1 book I bought from the museum at RANS Yeovilton sometime in 1979. I went from RAF Lakenheath to there to dearm one of F-111F's that landed IFE. Was there for a week. Great place nice museum. 1

I get bup there 3 or 4 times and always the same pleasure ! Wow ! Congratulations ! Pure scratch !! I will start with the ESCI one... That will be easier 😁 I look for another one since I want to have a FAA one too. Did you tried the Academy F-111 ? Is it an accurate kit ? Seeing F-111 Guru, I dare to ask. The Vark is also an aircraft I used to see in Airshow... Dump and Burn was a De Rigueur Show up. That was a stunner ! I made a Monogram one in the '80 but I no longer have it. Thank for showing your AD ! Sincerely. CC
f111guru Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 I spent 17 of my 22 years in the Air Force on the F-111. Hence the name. This model is the Academy kit with scratch built slats and flaps, weapons bay doors for the pavetack pod with some other modifications. The other pair are the Hasegawa 1/72nd scale D/F kits I built that pair for a fellow I worked for for his retirement. Depicting the 523rd FS and the 428th FS 27th FW Cannon AFB. Then not a month later comes out a slats and flap kit in resin. I have a half dozen now. Ron VanDerwarker 2 1
bbudde Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Hello CC I'm in for that. Have the Monogram one started years ago. Ilove these old Monograms. Cheap , but well executed and superdetailed for it's age. Btw. I slowly become a belgium football lover. They play great at the moment. 1 1

corsaircorp Posted October 11, 2018 Author Posted October 11, 2018 Hello Dears, From what has been done yesterday, little is a great improvement but this ! The Tamiya one is buttoned up and winged, Let me know chap, in french, when an aircraft received her wing, it's called "Mis en croix" Wich can be translated in "Crucified" or "Crossed" but not seem to correspond… ??? So I Wonder, is there an expression in English for the operation of giving an aircraft her wing…. Pure digression and semantic curiosity ... More to come soon ! Have a great modelling time ! Sincerely. CC 2
corsaircorp Posted October 20, 2018 Author Posted October 20, 2018 Hello Dears, As I mentionned it in my Seafire thread, yesterday was ordnance day for the Spads too ! Now I can say that the Tamiya kit ,if not a complete shake and bake;, is an ace on the adjustments ! Almost no putty ! Now, I Added a resin interior and here's a tiny glitch ! The Yankee extractor is connected to the seat's armor plate Now, there are différents mounting so be carefull and look at references pics Because some has the bare system, some other were covered with a kind of tarpaulin ! Like this resin part ! It look like the nose of this particular alien life form But Murphy is here again and the Skyraider I depict has a mixing of the 2 possibilities … So out with the saw !! Enjoy your good modelling Week end and take care !! Sincerely. CC 2
corsaircorp Posted October 25, 2018 Author Posted October 25, 2018 hello dears, Still have a good pic of the aircraft you are depicting ! Here's the partially covered extraction system ! Now that I've been given the ORDER from my cardiologist to stop smoking once more and for all !! I'll need kits, more kits, more and more kits…. Mmmmhhhhmmmmm or this …. or this…. Have a great modelling time !! Sincerely. CC 3
Tailspin Turtle Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 I can’t be certain, but I don’t think that mechanism behind the head rest is the Yankee rocket. For sure that’s not the Yankee seat. See https://tailspintopics.blogspot.com/2013/11/ad-1-skyraider-standard-vs-extraction.html 1
