exdraken
2 Hunters carry over from the recently finished Hawker GB here on BM. unfortunately I did not manage to finish in time, and will not do so immediately either, so I bring them over here.... might me of more interest here now! The Iraqi Airforce Mk.59 uses an FGA.ß base kit with a PJ productions tail correction quite an assortment of AM parts Linden Hill Iraqi Fighters decals to be used here: SBS models wheel bays, PJ Production cockpit and gun throughs the RJAF F.6 uses a F.6 base kit, with PJ productions F.6 gun throughs with the old style muzzle flash deflectors I will use DP Caspar decals on this one the F.6 tail cone is from Heritage and molded in one piece: the original WIPs can be found here: update in the next post! exdraken
so.... painting is largely done! Jordanian F.6 with early style camo, i.e. HSS undersides, and wingtip and rudder checkerboard from 10Sqd the Iraqi Mk.59 has light grey undersides and wrap around (leading edge) camo and bright red nose and tail sections: so all in all I try to capture the small differences between the to Hunter marks as much as possible early vs. late gun throughs, early vs. late tail cone early vs. late ejections seats (to be confirmed if true at all!) (Heritage BM Mk.3 and Neomega mB Mk.2...) paint scheme - HSS vs light grey underside and wrap around vs leading edge seperation hope you like them! more soon! cheers, Werner

Mikey-1980
Really nice work here. I quite like the halo effect in your cammo pattern too. When you get to the decal stage, make sure you have plenty of patience on hand, especially with the registration marking on the undercarriage. took me a few evenings to do it. I'd recommend securing the flap in the "up" position with some blu-tac or equivalent, applying them and then slicing where required. A steady hand and nerves of steel will be needed. exdraken
F.6 RJAF update: not sure yet which registration number to put on..... 804 ? which might have survived the 1967 6 day war... black or white, arabic numbers or early western ones??? hmmmm
exdraken
705 it is now probably did not survive 1967, but 804 was with 2 Squadron (black checkers ) Edited July 8, 2018 by exdraken
exdraken
and the Iraqi one: with Linden Hill decals
exdraken
not too much left to do.. maybe they are finished before the Airfix one knocks on my door..... a relatively dirty F.6 and the Mk-59 antenna still missing, seats not finished, clear parts missing, and the Eduard Brassin rockets of course! so.... lets move on! exdraken
so, as announced yesterday, I call them finished, until I find the right mojo to tackle the rockets, ..... joking apart, I decided yesterday that those Hunters need better ejection seat... the Neomega example is fine, but too small, and the other one... hmmm - I ordered Quickboost MB Mk.IIIs.... fingers crossed! cheers for now, until soon I hope! exdraken
thanks everybody! just passed by looking for the best Revell colors for the upper camo grey and green.... obviously I used Revell 378 and a mix of 361 and 65 for the green... will this fit my Mirage F1 as well? reminds me of doing the resin rockets for the Iraqi ones....
