1/48 Revell F-15E Strike Eagle - In Flight & Lit Up

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

This is a project I did for a very good friend of mines' 50th. Well suffice to see it could also have been for his 51st as it took over a year on and off to complete!

It's based on an early configuration F-15E from the 48FW at RAF Lakenheath which we have both visited many times.

Happy birthday chap!

Looks great and super impressive  ... My one piece of friendly advice is in the future if you repeat the build i would tone the cockpit lighting down and bring it more to a green tone. Again Great model !

Many thanks chaps, much appreciated and yes, my friend is very happy with it. He just needs to collect without breaking it!

Unfinished - No worries, I'm all for light-hearted 😉

Corsair - Great idea on the green - a much more usual lighting colour. Next time!

Armoured76 - The batteries are hidden in the airbrake housing. The F-15 is great for that as its always difficult to find a sufficiently large gap to stuff them in.

When did it change from red: red doesn't destroy night vision.

Hello @VMA131Marine thanks for asking. However my comment was referring to the  cockpit lighting as it looks now. Which is standard instrument lighting. Which to my eyes has always had a bit more greenish cast to it. Not electric blue ? That was my only reason for suggesting it. I didn't tell Richie B to rip it out or that it was horrible ?
