Thanks Corsairfoxfouruncle. I don't know if they used it for any other kit, as I've only seen this one in the 60+ years I've been building. We don't get many show rod type kits coming across the pond to the UK. This is the kit though and it's in black & gold!

 

There was a tiny plastic tub of gold paint in the box to colour the chrome parts but that had gone solid as the kit was dated 1987. So I used clear orange acrylic, that we use for indicators in the UK.

I also found on the web Nail Art decals of ice creams so used those as well.

I wish our neighbourhood ice cream truck had looked like that!

I particularly like the timberwork.  It looks like real, polished timber.  What's your secret?

I think your choice of colours is better than the box art too.

Thanks kapam. The timber mouldings are painted a matt sand colour then given a coat of clear gloss.
