1/72 Modelcollect B-2A Spirit

Recommended Posts

With a very deep breath (held for a very long time! ;) ), the masks were removed. Just a couple of little touch ups needed, but otherwise, very pleased with the way turned it’s out.
Now breathe.....

That is a million times better looking than using the decals mate. Nice subtle variation in them compared to a solid colour decal.

Good effort!

Thanks Tony.

What if told you that none of the markings are in the decal sheet. Massive oversight by ModellCollect methinks. 🙄

Really? I assumed that they were decals from looking at some of the other completed builds I have seen of this...

After applying some gloss, the decals have been applied. I tried out Hataka’s lacquer gloss for the first time. Dry pleased with it. Nice finish, and dries fully in minutes.
Oh, and those areas that were done with mask set....not one of those RAM is included in the kit as decals.

With the decals fully dried, I’ve misted Gunship Grey over the whole airframe. This has toned done the decals, and the RAM panels. This was followed by adding black to the grey, and darkening the walkway areas.

You have captured the look of the real aircraft well. I don’t often give praise on Britmodeller. Would like to see your model in the flesh now. Well done chap

Hi Sammy

If you’re going to Telford this year, it may well be there.

Where did you guys buy this beauty of a kit? Can I buy it in the UK?

Great work on the kit masks and paint look better than the decal option I think.

Thanks.

The kit I got from Gary Ford, at Tiger Hobbies. I don’t whether he’s any left.

The mask set is by New Ware, and that was bought from Hannants.

A superb result to be proud of. Can't wait to start mine now.

A question.....would you say it was worth investing in the Eduard cockpit & internal detail set, or would it be not visible on the completed model?

HI

I wouldn’t bother with the Eduard set. You’re not going to see much, through the windshield. The kits PE is adequate. The money you’d would spend on the Eduard bits, you can put towards the New Ware RAM panel mask set.
