Airfix Heinkel H6.

Recommended Posts

Morning Folk's,here's Airfix's Heinke lH6 as a KG 26 machine based in Sicily built for the MTO GB,What a cracking kit build's beautifully if you get the instruction's

right which I think I didn't as I had an issue with the engine nacelles early in the build, special praise to Airfix for the superb glazing and method of fitting the

fuselage window's but also a dunces hat and ten minute's in the corner for the instruction's which have the starboard codes reversed I'll be joining them there as

I blindly followed them and hence they're wrong here's the build

https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235037622-airfix-heinkel-111finished/&page=1

And the build, thank's for looking in.

Really neat job Steve. I guess it's 1/72 scale but even so must be a big model. I've never graduated to building any Luftwaffe bombers (Stuka excepted although that was a favour for a mate) but I've often looked at the Do 17s and He 111s, even a Ju 88 or 2 but concluded size would be a storage issue. It's a greta job. Well done!

That's a great looking "inekull".......!!

Has as got to be one of my favourite types from that era.

The colours look spot on. What paints did you use?

Many thank's guy's,Paul yes 1/72 scale  I should have mentioned that and Booty, mixed my own from Tamiya range, the light green is 80% Nato green

the dark is their's with a touch of gray and undersides  NATO black.

Very nice He-111. This plane reminds me my teenage trip with my father to find one which crashed in Mala Fatra mountains around our village during ww2. We were succesfull and after 3hours of walking to app. 1000 meter above sea level we found in the forest burned engines, whole wings, whole rear part ( which was stolen few years later by some fans)...but there are still wings and many other pieces as they are now parts of the trees which grown into this metal parts over the years.

A superb, neat and unblemished build Steve.  I like the subtle contrast between the greens, some Luftwaffe models look too dark all over especially in the smaller scales but yours looks great. Now wonder somebody did not realise it was 1/72 scale.

Yet again another super job Steve. I’m glad that you enjoyed the build which I find quite common with many new tooled Airfix kits these days. You’ve captured the shape and overall finish of the Heinkel well and am sure you’ll motivate many modellers to either build or buy an example of their own. Well done.

Cheers.. Dave
