Wez
If it is a contemporary photo, it was taken before delivery as those look like the fields and forests of rural England beneath the aircraft. Edited October 7, 2018 by Wez
Giorgio N
The colour picture was indeed taken in Britain, according to the Aerofax book during a training flight. I don't know if there are others around, if there's someone who may know this is the author of the linked article, as Tom Cooper has spent a lot of time studying air war in the Middle East

exdraken
ready for painting medium sea grey undersides according to Isradecal. --> Revell 43?? or Sky blue according to Wings over Sinai.... https://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/ref/helion/book_helion_sinai.shtml will be hard to find a conclusive answer I fear.... who of you knows more.... please step forward! is this a likely color reference? exdraken
top color is said to be something like light stone BS361.... I opted for a ~ 50/50 Revel 314 and 16... without flash and with flash... dark (olive) green would be the second camo color.... .. hummmmm
John Masters
Without flash is better. I like the colour. Olive would be a good contrast.
exdraken
so ... color update.... dark olive green... what's that exactly in different lightning conditions...... Edited October 11, 2018 by exdraken
exdraken
paintwork moving along nicely! I think at least! I opted for a mixture of Revell 65, 46 and 365 for the olive dark green, and 374 and Xtracolor X601 for the grey.... thanks for dropping by!

Giorgio N
Can't comment on the colours, wonder if the dark olive green was the same green later used on RN helicopters ? In any case the painted model looks good and close to the colour pictures, personally I'd probably just be happy this way

I will nor repaint as of now, as I have to apply decals tonight... with some panels opened as promised
exdraken
as promised some decal work! Decals are from Isradecal, usually know for well researched and high quality! I am not fully convinced with all they did design wise, what, no alternatives right now! (I assume that the markings for the Israeli machines are spot on!) not sure how the white fuel tank marking band are supposed to fit...... hard to say if they are more correct for my Syrian plane at all.... Stencils are mostly Airfix, the Ejection triangles actually the only viable option ,for being readable and way ahead of ISRADECAL..... all in all it looks busy , not all stencils were applied though..... cheers, Werner Edited October 17, 2018 by exdraken
Giorgio N
That looks great Werner ! Isradecals usually is pretty serious about accuracy, don't know much about this subject to comment unfortunately. As you said before, not many probably do anyway 😁 In any case love the details and the colour scheme, this will be something to be proud of when completed
