Shelliecool
with decals in place it was time to tackle the undercarriage on both builds. First up the Airfix spit, this was pretty simple as there are very few pieces involved, and they went together well. Just a little touch up needed on the paintwork needed. The Eduard kit is more complicated (as you would expect), that said it was fairly easy to assemble (the instructions are very detailed) and I soon had two spits on their wheels.

bigbadbadge
Very nice indeed. Lovely pair of Spitfires. I have not built the Eduard kit but have built the Airfix Spitfire and loved it. Great work on the models. All the best Chris

Shelliecool
I have been working on lightly weathering both builds over the last few evenings. I mixed up some black and rust weathering powder with micro sol and water and applied a pin wash to the panel lines. I only want to add a subtle amount of weathering, and plan to add some chipping before brushing over a little weather powder for smoke and dirt trails.
Shelliecool
With some light chipping, a brush of black weathering powder and antenna line added, both builds are finished and ready for a place in my display cabinet. I've really enjoyed working on this pair, the contrast in simplicity, and quality is amazing. I loved the Eduard kit, with its many parts, pe, masking, varients and multitude of decals, but you can't beat n Airfix spit, can you!? Thanks for joining me on my build journey, one which has helped me discover the brilliance of Vallejo acrylics. I will post more photos of the pair in the ready for inspection forum.

Corsairfoxfouruncle
Great looking Spitfires ... I really like them both but Im very interested in doing a Soviet Spitfire. I may take some tips from your thread.
The Spadgent
Excelent looking spitfires. I totally missed the last part of their creation but I’m all caught up now. Wonderful measured work. Bravo. I find that even with a coat of gloss masking can still lift decals. A right pain. I noticed you have a couple of other builds on the go. No hanging around, @CedB has some competition. 😵 popping over to the RFI. keep up the great work. Johnny. 1
Sturmovik
I always liked the look of the rounded wing Spitfire more than the clipped wing Spitfire, well done.
