Booty003
Here is another fantastic 1/72 Academy F-8E Crusader this time of VF-111 "Sundowners", USS Oriskany, 1966, Task Force 77. Absolutely love this kit and aircraft. Much lighter weathering on this one compared to my Death Angels version. Cheers all, Phil 47

kapam
Crikey - as good as it gets where 1/72 USN jets are concerned. Love the panel lining - what's your secret?

I used a Flory Grime wash on this and wicked most of it away with cotton buds and a wet brush. My Wife reckons I have a touch of OCD (I call it attention to detail) which may help a bit.....!! Grey Beema
Actually Booty - is that the Crusader that Tony Nagari (?) used to shoot down a Mig?
PattheCat
I would have guessed 1/48 not 1/72. Wonderful job. My favourite US NAVY jet so neatly done... thanks. Got one in the stash (French markings). Any problems with the build?

adey m
Absolutely superb Phil, I had to check the scale, cannot believe you have achieved so much amazing detail on a 1/72nd kit that stands up so well to such close scrutiny. Fantastic jobs on what are one of my favourite carrier borne fighters regards, adey

Orion
Hello HM RM, Both Crusaders are constructed and finished to the highest standard. My highest compliments. They look clean, so I take it for granted that they have just arrived in the Area of Operations. Once ordered into constant battle, you could see the wear and tear on the pilots face and even more so on the planes. All time and effort went into keeping them flying. Regards, Orion, The Netherlands.

Mario
Fantastic as the other one, but I prefer the more dirty Marines version. Cheers, Mario
