Booty003
Here is the fantastic 1/72 Academy F-8E Crusader of VMF (AW) 235 "Death Angels", Da Nang, South Vietnam, 1966. The kit goes together so well - an absolute pleasure to build. The only addition is PE seat belts. Have got another 4 in the stash!! I have added a fair bit of weathering as actual photos show that they could get quite dirty. Shown ready for a CAS mission with a mix of Zuni's and Snakeyes. Semper Fi. Shown with a Sundowners bird. Thanks for looking chaps, Phil

Booty003
Thanks guys. No WIP I'm afraid Jaime, I've done them in the past and find that they can be quite time consuming.

Booty003
Hi Jean, decals came with the kit. Printed by Cartograf too so were great to work with especially the complex shape at the intake.

These were built so long ago and have been sitting on my shelf waiting for paint that I can't remember! I would need to get a stud/metal detector on it to see if it beeps away...!! 😁

adey m
Absolutely stunning level of detail on a 1/72nd Crusader and weathering just right, got to be the best and most convincing Crusaders I have seen in that scale. The ordnance on that Crusader is very impressive, I never realised they could carry all that. Love the dioramas that you have presented them on too. regards, adey

I keep coming back to this post and looking in amazement at the load the Marine machine is carrying. Those Zuni pylons are a work of art.

Mario
Hi Phil! Fantastic work on that Crusader! Very nice paintwork and weathering. Your choice for the light gull grey seems perfect. I´m building the very same subject at the moment, but not from the Academy but from the old Esci kit. Takes a lot of additional effort, especially scratchbuilding the Zuni launchers. Have already cut the slats and flaps to present my Crusader in take-off configuration. Cheers, Mario
Troffa
It is a fantastic kit, one of my favourites, and you've certainly done it justice. Weathering is just right to my eye. Last of the Gunfighters!
