shatters
Built this for the Hawker Siddley GB. Thought I should post it here too. Hawker Tempest F5 3Sqn RAF Wunsdorf Germany 1947-48. Academy kit with Airfix rockets and Freightdog decals. Painted with Humbrol enamels and hairy stick. All comments much appreciated. Meatbox8
Superb. I like the Tempest in silver. It really brings out those powerful lines. I could have sworn this was the new Special Hobby kit in 1/32nd! Did you really paint that silver with a brush? You're a better man than I, Gunga Din. 1

Thanks, my modelling space consists of a table in front of the telly. So all my painting is done with a brush. Phil

KelT
Ah a table in front of the telly. I have one of those, the table that is, we didn't bother with the telly this time. So I have the table and you show me what is possible to do on it, excellent work, a lovely model very skillfully done.

stevehnz
I like that., nicely done with the silver, which Humbrol number was that? It looks good for a HS silver finish to my eye. Steve.

Rabbit Leader
Probably the nicest scheme to ever be seen on a Tempest V. I’m a sucker for green and those codes look superb. Also echoing the plaudits for an outstanding paint brush silver finish - that really is done extremely well. Cheers.. Dave

A table? Luxury. I used to manage with a beer mat balanced on one knee.. What a fantastic Tempest. The silver finish really suits it - a masterful paint job.

Wow, I'm really blown away by everyone's comments. Thanks guys. To answer John's question, I use a new size 2 brush and apply really thin coats working in opposite directions. I mix the paint to within an inch of its life and try not to overload the brush. The paint is basic Humbrol 11. Phil
Hairtrigger
Fantastic and no airbrush... I use only brushes and have been shying away from doing a P47D Thunderbolt 1:72 in silver livery. I will have to practice the technique you use. Many thanks.

If you mix the paint well and have a good tin 2 or 3 should do the trick. Phil
mackem01
Beautiful Tempest....and all bulled up too. Now I need to go in search of one of these magic tables if it'll help me and my cohorts of hairy sticks paint as good as that!

bigbadbadge
Very nice. Paint looks great. I must admit that I was shocked when I read it was 72nd scale as I too thought it was larger. Thanks for sharing All the best best Chris
