Superb.  I like the Tempest in silver.  It really brings out those powerful lines.  I could have sworn this was the new Special Hobby kit in 1/32nd!  Did you really paint that silver with a brush?  You're a better man than I, Gunga Din.

Thanks, my modelling space consists of a table in front of the telly. So all my painting is done with a brush.

Looks great.  I don't think I could get anywhere near to as good brush painting silver.

Ah a table in front of the telly. I have one of those, the table that is, we didn't bother with the telly this time. So I have the table and you show me what is possible to do on it, excellent work, a lovely model very skillfully done.

Probably the nicest scheme to ever be seen on a Tempest V. I’m a sucker for green and those codes look superb. Also echoing the plaudits for an outstanding paint brush silver finish - that really is done extremely well.

Cheers.. Dave

A table? Luxury. I used to manage with a beer mat balanced on one knee..

What a fantastic Tempest. The silver finish really suits it - a masterful paint job.

Lovely Tempest.

Tips on brush painting silver like that would be appreciated.

John.

Wow, I'm really blown away by everyone's comments. Thanks guys.

To answer John's question, I use a new  size 2 brush and apply really thin coats working in opposite directions. I mix the paint to within an inch of its life and try not to overload the brush.

The paint is basic Humbrol 11.

You make it sound very easy. How many coats does it usually take?

Thanks,

John.

If you mix the paint well and have a good tin 2 or 3 should do the trick.
